Reference: the search operators that actually matter

Most searches fail because the default search box blends replies, bots, and years of noise into one feed. Adding two or three operators turns into a fast research archive:

OperatorWhat it filtersExample

min_faves:NPosts with at least N likes (cuts out low-signal noise)biotech min_faves:250
min_retweets:NPosts reposted at least N timesbenchmark min_retweets:50
-filter:repliesDrops reply-guy noise and keeps top-level postsfrom:naval -filter:replies
filter:linksOnly posts linking to an external article, paper, or repollm eval filter:links min_faves:100

Why searching public is different from searching your bookmarks

Public search operators are built for finding a post when you already remember who wrote it or the exact words they used. Your saved bookmarks have the opposite problem: you bookmarked a chart, a quote post, or an essay six months ago, and you only remember the idea ("that thread about peptide dosing" or "the seed-deck teardown").

ZeroMark solves the bookmark side. When you connect (read-only), ZeroMark fetches your saves, pulls in the full text of long posts and the substance of quoted posts, classifies every save by field and intent, and indexes both exact words and semantic meaning. The free plan covers your latest 50 saves with no card required; paid plans ($4.99 a month or $39 a year) index and triage your entire backlog.

Questions people ask

Does X advanced search work inside my private bookmarks?

Only partially. Inside the native Bookmarks tab, basic words and handles match against the post text, but power operators like min_faves:, since:, until:, and -filter:replies run against public search rather than filtering your private saved list. To filter your own bookmarks by field, intent, author, or meaning, connect ZeroMark and use the hybrid search bar in Browse or ask Chat.

How do I find posts from one author with at least 100 likes?

Enter the author's handle in the From author field (without the @ sign) and set Minimum likes to 100. The builder emits from:handle min_faves:100 -filter:replies, which you can open directly on with one click.

Why do link-only posts and quote posts fail in standard X search?

When someone posts a link with a two-word reaction or quotes another post, stores the link as a shortened t.co URL and keeps the quoted text on the parent post. Searching for a word from the quoted post or article title returns nothing in standard search. ZeroMark expands quoted posts and summarizes the substance so both keyword and semantic search find it.

Can I combine date ranges with exact phrases?

Yes. Put your exact phrase in the Exact phrase field and pick a Since date and Until date. interprets since:YYYY-MM-DD as inclusive and until:YYYY-MM-DD as exclusive, so a one-week window finds every matching post from that span.
