vs BookmarkBrain

BookmarkBrain answers questions about the pile. ZeroMark empties it.

BookmarkBrain is a Chrome extension that turns your bookmarks and Reddit saved posts into something you can ask questions. It indexes the saved pages by scrolling them for you, searches by meaning, and answers with links back to the posts it used. You bring your own key from one of the AI providers it supports and pay that provider per question. The extension is free, open source under the MIT license, and keeps your data in your browser with no backend. Asking the pile is useful. It leaves the pile where it was.

Pick BookmarkBrain if you want to question your saves without an account, a server, or a subscription, and you already have an AI key. On privacy and on price it is ahead of us, and it reads Reddit too. Pick ZeroMark if the problem is the unread count, and you want every bookmark read for you and decided. The two fit together: ask there, decide here.

We make ZeroMark. Every fact about BookmarkBrain below comes from their own site, checked 3 November 2026, and linked in Sources. If we have a fact wrong, tell us and we will correct it.

What BookmarkBrain does better

Where ZeroMark is different

Where ZeroMark falls short

Pricing, side by side

BookmarkBrain: Free on its Chrome Web Store listing. You pay your chosen AI provider for each question, which the listing says is usually pennies. ZeroMark: Free for your latest 150 saves, no card and no clock. $4.99 a month or $39 a year reads the library your connection returns. A 30-day refund covers the first paid charge. Card payments go through Stripe. Prices change. Check both before you pay.

Switching, or using both

  1. Keep BookmarkBrain if it already does a job you want, such as search, backup, or a digest.
  2. Connect on ZeroMark. The connection is read-only, so the list on stays as it is.
  3. Clear your latest saves on the free plan. Decide each one: done, let go, or snooze for a week.
  4. Send keeps to Notion, Obsidian, or a file. Nothing on is deleted by ZeroMark.
  5. Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini can read the keeps through the Living Memory connector.

Who should pick which

If the question is "what did I save about this", BookmarkBrain answers it for free on your own machine. If the question is "which of these do I still need", that is a decision, and ZeroMark asks it one save at a time.

Questions people ask

Is BookmarkBrain free?

Yes, on its Chrome Web Store listing, read 3 November 2026. You bring your own AI key and pay the provider per question.

Where does BookmarkBrain keep my bookmarks?

In your browser, by its listing, with no backend and no data collection. ZeroMark is hosted, keeps your library in your account, and exports to Notion, Obsidian, or a file.

Does ZeroMark need my own AI key?

No. Each save is read and summarized for you, with no key to bring.

Can ZeroMark answer questions about my saves too?

Yes. Chat answers from your library and cites the saves it used. Its main screen is still the open count, because the point is to decide.

Can I use both?

Yes. Ask your pile in BookmarkBrain. Clear it in ZeroMark, which does not change your account.
